I have waited some time for this third and final installment
of Griffing's Tear Drops series, and it turned out to be such an amazing
finale for this sweet, sad, funny, meaningful trilogy. It's a later-in-life
romance mixed with a bit of magical realism. There's talk of tantalizing food, and the author's sense of humor shines brightly throughout the
entire narrative.
George. Oh my gosh. If you don't fall in love with this little dog, you might need to get yourself checked. He's at the center of all the books, but he shares the spotlight with another furry character in this one. A cute little white dog named Mollie—who is not at all interested in going anywhere there isn't a groomer and the safety and cleanliness of her own apartment. When her owner, Katie, decides to accept an invitation to join her brother, Joe, and Joe's girlfriend, Ruby, on a camping trip in the desert, she decides she has nothing to lose. Perhaps, instead, she has much to gain.
Saying more would be saying too much. While reading this book, I was feeling all the feels. I loved every single one of these novels, but this third one completed the tale so beautifully. It couldn't have been done any better.
